Gus* Design Group is a furniture design and manufacturing company based in Toronto, Canada, manufactured using environmentally friendly practices. Gus* was started in 2001 by some like-minded friends who shared a passion for design, and a vison to create an original, modern furniture collection that would combine contemporary aesthetics with mid-century traditions-emphasizing functionality, materials and craftsmanship.
The Gus* Modern Collection, comprised of upholstered seating, dining, beds, accents, lighting and accessories, is only found at fine independent furniture showrooms across North America and select international showrooms, like Sage Interiors.
Gus* style can be characterized as “soft modern”- an aesthetic that is contemporary but approachable. Drawing from a range of influences past and present, our design integrate seamlessly into many different interior styles. The mid-century influences captures the memory of traditional furniture buying and leaves a classic impression of past design influences.
Modern furniture made eco-friendly!
As part of our commitment to the environment, we have chosen Gus* because they manufacture our sofas, chairs, sectionals, beds and ottomans using wood products which have been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This ensures that the wood used in our upholstery comes from well-managed forest which employ methods of responsible harvesting and meet strict, verifiable environmental standards.

And what’s more their synthetic-down fill material is made from recycled PET plastic water bottles. You’ll relax with cushions that give you luxurious comfort, and you’ll take comfort knowing that helped us prevent over 600,000 plastic bottles per year from entering landfills!
